If, as a property owner, you plan to extend your property or undertake construction in close proximity of our gas meter apparatus or over the line of the gas supply route, you must contact us by completing the form below.
Failure to advise of us of any alterations over the gas supply pipeline will result in immediate disconnection and you will be charged to make the installation safe and future reconnections to the network.
Gas appliances need air to function safely and efficiently. Prior to undertaking any home improvements you should consider the ventilation requirements of your natural gas appliances and consult a Gas Safe Registered engineer for professional advice.
When undertaking work around your property, regardless how small, such as gardening, kerb laying, or driveway re-surfacing, please be aware of the route of your natural gas service which in most circumstances will be of small diameter (20mm) and yellow in colour. Please take care when excavating in the area of the service pipe and if you are having work undertaken by a contractor make them aware that there is a buried natural gas service pipe serving your property.
Generally, although not always, your natural gas service will run in a straight line from the street to your natural gas meter (a property located on a corner might be an exception to this). Should you require further guidance on the route of your natural gas meter please contact us.
