Two community groups helping Whitehead blossom were given a boost this week by Phoenix Energy as it marks the completion of the extension of the natural gas network to 1,500 properties in the town.
The Whitehead Wombles litter picking team and Brighter Whitehead volunteers who maintain the floral displays around the town, each received a donation from Phoenix Energy towards the materials and tools they need to continue their community work.
With more people spending time at home and exploring their local area, it’s more important than ever to keep towns tidy and the Whitehead Wombles and Brighter Whitehead volunteers have kept the town blooming despite the challenges of Covid-19.
