Crossgar Harriers are preparing for a blue Christmas this year as the club today announced Phoenix Energy as a new sponsor for the annual Crossgar Santa Run, which takes place on Sunday 2nd December.
Over 250 runners will descend upon Crossgar for the 5k and 10k races and family fun run, which features a new route this year, taking in much of the grounds of Tobar Mhuire Retreat and Conference Centre.
Phoenix Energy will be warming up runners after the event with a festive reception. Runners are also being encouraged to don their best Santa outfits for the chance to win fantastic prizes, courtesy of Phoenix Energy.
Speaking about the new partnership, Crossgar Harriers Representative, Gary Curran, said “We are delighted to welcome Phoenix Energy as a new race sponsor and it’s great to have them on board to add some festive fun on the day with a post-race reception that’s sure to get everyone into the Christmas spirit. A Phoenix Blue Santa will also be kicking off the event with a runner’s warm up to help get everyone going and as usual we will have prizes for everyone taking part in the event.
“With a new sponsor on board and a route on offer this year, we’re hopefully getting set for our biggest race yet. The annual Santa Run is the highlight in the running calendar and we’re all really looking forward to a great day out. I would encourage everyone to come along and join in on the fun, whether you’re a club member or completely new to running.”
Phoenix Energy Communications Manager, Geri Wright, said, “As a company actively engaged in the communities it serves, we are delighted to support this flagship event and add a little festive fun to the Santa Run.
“The Phoenix Energy team will be there on the day to judge the best dressed Santa who will receive family tickets to the Christmas pantomime. We’ll also have a mince pie and hot chocolate reception for runners and supporters to warm up after the race in War Memorial Hall. Having recently completed construction of the natural gas network in the local area, we’re looking forward to warming up Christmas in Crossgar through the Santa Run and as home and business owners continue making the switch to natural gas.”
