Project HySpeed is an initiative designed to scale up hydrogen production, reduce hydrogen costs and promote industrial decarbonisation.
The project involves a consortium of companies which include Ballymena based Wrightbus, alongside Hygen Energy, Ryze Power and HYCAP group.
The project targets 1GW of green hydrogen production capacity by 2030, through a national network of production hubs across GB, intended to unlock £6.5 billion in private investment.
The hydrogen produced will be used to decarbonise energy intensive industries connected to the gas grid and decarbonise public transport through Wrightbus’ green hydrogen fleet.
