Phoenix Energy has joined forces with local charitable organisation, SistersIN to help inspire the next generation of female business leaders in Northern Ireland.

As part of this partnership, six employees will take part in the SistersIN Leadership Programme 2025/26, offering mentorship and work experience opportunities to sixth form pupils over the course of an eight-month journey. Mentors will help students build confidence, broaden their career perspectives, and prepare them for future senior leadership roles.

Jonathan Martindale, Director of Business Development at Phoenix Energy said: “We’re excited to be partnering with the SistersIN Leadership Programme, which gives our female leaders the chance to mentor sixth form pupils across Northern Ireland. Our team can’t wait to get started and are focused on supporting young women as they take their first steps into leadership. We believe it’s so important that every young person can see what’s possible for their future and we’re proud to play a part in helping build their confidence and ambition.”

Gillian McKeown, Director of Operations and Growth at SistersIN added: “We are delighted to welcome Phoenix Energy as a Friends Partner of SistersIN. Each new partner helps us to grow and extend our reach, giving more girls across Northern Ireland the opportunity to benefit from mentorship, develop their confidence, and realise their leadership potential. With Phoenix Energy’s support, we can continue to create meaningful impact for the next generation of young women.”

The SistersIN Leadership programme is part of a pupil focused network that brings together schools, female leaders and businesses to create a practical, real-world learning experience. It’s designed to be inclusive and impactful, giving all students, regardless of socio-economic background or religion, the chance to build confidence, gain valuable skills, and explore future career opportunities.

This initiative also reflects Phoenix’s commitment to empowering young people, supporting diversity in leadership and investing in the communities it serves.
