The transition of company vehicles to low carbon alternatives continues to be a key strand of Phoenix Energy’s sustainability strategy and 2035 targets.

The recent introduction of electric vehicles to the operational fleet at Phoenix Energy move is very much aligned to the company’s broader sustainability strategy, which includes advancing renewable gas solutions to support homes and businesses who are connected to the gas network.

Gareth Wright, Director of Business Services at Phoenix Energy said,

“In recent years Phoenix Energy have been proud to play a key role in shaping and informing the development of a regional strategy to support the 2022 Climate Change Act and decarbonise our local economy. Whilst considerable focus is placed on the integral role the gas network will play in future energy systems, we are also committed to leading the way when it comes to reducing our own operational carbon footprint.

It is widely recognised that NI is blessed with regional features that with the right policy enablers leave us well placed to advance both renewable gas and renewable electric solutions at scale, with different solutions meeting different consumer needs.

We are delighted that the introduction of this new fleet of low carbon vehicles allows our engineering teams to carry out their important consumer facing responsibilities in a manner that is increasingly sustainable”.
