Phoenix Energy welcome Cadent to Hybrid Heating Trial House in East Belfast

Cadent Visit Hybrid Heating Trial House In East Belfast 1

Phoenix Energy welcomed representatives from Cadent’s Services beyond the meter team and Guidehouse, a consultancy firm, for a two-day visit to Belfast.

As part of this visit we shared our experience and knowledge of hybrid heating, a technology we have been researching for a number of years.

Hybrid heating involves combining a gas boiler with a low carbon Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP). Phoenix have been conducting several research initiatives and trials into the technology, which we were able to share with our colleagues in GB.

The technology is growing in popularity and it is good to see that Cadent, the largest gas distribution network in the UK, also recognise the benefits hybrid heating can have; including the benefits it has in providing a just transition, allowing all homes a pathway to decarbonisation whilst providing the lowest cost blend of heating solutions to the occupant.

As a recent associate member of Future Energy Networks (FEN), we are proud to collaborate with our colleagues in GB and hope to work together to share the benefits that hybrid heating can have.
