Ballynahinch Community Collective received a welcome boost to its annual Christmas Hamper Appeal this week as Phoenix Energy lent its support to the campaign to help deliver much needed supplies to even more families in need this Christmas.
Working with Ballynahinch Community Collective, staff at Phoenix Energy contributed boxes of much needed items including festive treats, non-perishable food and household products which will be distributed to dozens of families in time for Christmas day.
Jonathan Martindale, Director of Communications at Phoenix Energy, said, “For the past year Phoenix Energy has been working closely with the Ballynahinch community to help mitigate construction work in the area as we work to bring natural gas to the town.
“Phoenix Energy has a long history of engaging in corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to add deeper value to the communities that it serves. Since work commenced in Ballynahinch earlier this year, we have been delighted to support various community initiatives including the Ballynahinch Lions 10km run and Ballynahinch Olympic FC’s annual Youth Summer League, as well as hosting our own family fun day in Market Square.
“With work now complete in Ballynahinch town centre, Phoenix Energy is committed to continuing to embed itself within the community and, at this special time of year, we thought there is no better way to do this than to support this very worthy hamper appeal. Ballynahinch Community Collective is a fantastic charitable organisation and we are delighted to work with them and deliver much needed items so that local families can enjoy a happy Christmas.”
Richard Orme, Chairman of Ballynahinch Community Collective, said, “Each year the Collective launches its Christmas Hamper appeal and we are overwhelmed with the support we receive from local businesses, with many not only collecting items themselves but also acting as drop off points for the wider Ballynahinch community to also donate.
“We were delighted when Phoenix Energy contacted us to lend their support to the Hamper Appeal. Not only will this bring additional vital goods but it has also helped increase awareness of our appeal and bring this to a much bigger audience. We thank the staff at Phoenix Energy for their support and we look forward to continuing to work with the company in 2018.”
