As part of the company’s environmental commitment, Phoenix Energy recently participated in ‘Give and Gain Day’ in association with Business in the Community.
Give & Gain Day is a global celebration of the power of Employer Supported Volunteering. On Friday 18th May, staff from various businesses and industry sectors across Northern Ireland took part in a range of volunteering activities in their local community in support of charities, schools and community groups.
Four environmentally focused staff members from Phoenix Energy gave up their time to help with a project to remove invasive water plants and care for the pond and tree at Bashfordsland Wood in Whitehead.
Special thanks to Adrian McNeilly, John McArthur, Ryan Webster and Diarmuid Mazarire for participating on the day. Feedback from the event was extremely positive with all staff thoroughly enjoying their time helping to care for the woodland.
The event follows the popular ‘Love Your Landscape’ environmental initiative which took place last October at Clandeboye Estate in Bangor, in association with Business in the Community, where 20 staff from Phoenix Energy and the Utility Regulator participated in a project to plant willow trees on the Estate.
