CORE is Northern Ireland’s only corporate responsibility standard and is a framework for identifying and measuring corporate responsibility activity and performance across organisations.

Dr. Lisa McIlvenna, Managing Director, Business in the Community said,  “We are delighted that Phoenix Energy has retained Gold level accreditation in the CORE Standard for Responsible Business. The CORE advisory panel commended the organisation for its strong submission and noted that the business had increased its scores in every area of the CORE framework, with an exemplary score in Stakeholder Engagement.

"It is inspiring to see how Phoenix employees firmly support the company’s approach to responsible business and we applaud the ways in which the business seeks to inspire the wider business community”.

Jonathan Martindale, Phoenix Energy Director of Business Development, said, “Phoenix is very proud of its rich heritage of being recognised for our commitment to responsible business and are pleased that our work and that of our partner organisations continued to be recognised as gold standard. For us, CSR is an important long-term, sustainable business investment which is creating real economic, social, governance and environmental value to the communities we serve.

The most pleasing aspect of our responsible business programme is that it is shaped and delivered by colleagues across the business, who work with local partners who feel passionate about delivering positive outcomes. Through our membership with Business in the Community and the CORE Standard for Responsible Business, we will continue to benchmark ourselves and evolve our programme to add real value to the people, planet and places that we serve.”
