Ormeau Road Construction

We're carrying out essential planned works at the junction of Annadale Avenue and Ormeau Road over three phases.

Lane Closure: Annadale Avenue and Ormeau Road junction

Planned gas network construction is scheduled to take place at the junction of Annadale Avenue and Ormeau Road over three phases.

Phase 1 is scheduled to commence on Sunday 24th May 2026, between 08:00 and 18:00. This will affect the two centre lanes (lane 2 in each direction).

Phase 2 is scheduled for Monday 25th May 2026, between 08:00 and 18:00. This will affect the two kerbside lanes (lane 1 in each direction).

Phase 3 is scheduled for Sunday 31st May 2026, between 08:00 and 18:00. This will affect the kerbside lane heading out of Belfast (lane 1).

Work will be continuous and take place within the roadway. Pedestrian access and access to adjacent premises will be maintained throughout.

In the event that works are not completed within the scheduled timeframe, the lane closures will remain in place until the works are completed. We will endeavour to keep any extension to an absolute minimum.

If you are travelling through this area, please allow additional time for your journey, particularly during morning and evening peak periods.

The construction work has been planned in consultation with the Department for Infrastructure. Lane closures will be in place throughout the works to maintain the safety of our onsite teams and vehicular traffic.

We regret any inconvenience this may cause to businesses and residents. Please be assured that we will take all reasonable steps to complete the work as efficiently as possible while minimising disruption to the local community.
