Phoenix Energy is delighted to announce that a collaboration with supply chain partners has generated £3,696.24 for its Charity partner, Lighthouse, an organisation dedicated to the prevention of suicide, the promotion of positive mental health, and the support of families bereaved by suicide.
The funding, which will bolster the total amount raised by Phoenix colleagues across a 2-year partnership, was raised through the recycling of scrap pipe materials, with Radius Systems generously gifting the full value of the recycled materials to Lighthouse. The materials were returned as part of ongoing works delivered alongside Phoenix Energy’s principal construction partner, Kier, demonstrating how every day activity across the supply chain can deliver meaningful community impact.
Lighthouse was selected as Phoenix Energy’s Charity partner by employees, with fundraising efforts taking place throughout the year to support its vital work across the construction and utilities sectors.
Sean McGreevy, Network Development Manager at Phoenix Energy said, “On behalf of Phoenix Energy, I extend a sincere thank you to Radius Systems for their generous donation through their recycling initiative. They have been a long-term partner with our principal contractor, Kier, and their support for our nominated charity, Lighthouse, is greatly appreciated and reflects a strong commitment to making a positive difference in the local community”.
George McShane, Area Sales Manager at Radius Systems, added, “At Radius Systems, we’re proud to support an initiative that combines sustainability with meaningful community impact. Through the NI Supply Chain Alliance recycling scheme in Lurgan, returned and scrap pipe materials are being responsibly recycled back into the manufacturing process, helping to create a more circular approach across the industry. We’re delighted that the funds raised can now support the Lighthouse charity and the important work they do for people and families across the construction and utilities sectors.”
Anthony Stanley, Contracts Manager at Kier, commented, “At Kier, we are committed to reducing waste and embedding more sustainable ways of working across our projects. Recycling surplus materials through the NI Supply Chain Alliance recycling scheme with Radius Systems and Phoenix Energy helps ensure materials are managed responsibly, while directly supporting the communities we work in through the fantastic Lighthouse charity, and the delivery of Kier’s wider sustainability commitments. We are delighted to play our part in it.”
Erin Hamilton thanked all teams involved in the initiative stating, “Lighthouse is thrilled to see the collaboration between Radius Systems and Kier utilising recycled materials to generate funds- a truly remarkable full cycle moment. Every contribution will support our councillors and training team who provide essential assistance to individuals and families in our communities affected by suicide and self-harm. Thank you.”
