The 2025 UK’s Best Workplaces in Construction, Engineering and Property list was revealed this morning by Great Place To Work® UK, recognising Phoenix Energy among the list of organisations in the small and medium sized category.
Phoenix Energy’s employees anonymously reported that staff engagement initiatives from the Responsible Business Programme makes the company a great place to work.
Employees noted that engagement initiatives such as Phoenix 15 (a monthly face to face engagement platform), the annual Family Fun Day, and complimentary pantomime tickets as meaningful contributors to a positive workplace culture. These initiatives, which form part of the broader Responsible Business Programme, are designed to strengthen employee wellbeing and build a sense of community. By offering opportunities for staff to connect outside of the traditional work environment, we create an inclusive and supportive workplace that reflects our long-term commitment to our people.
The Best Workplaces in Construction, Engineering & Property™ list is created using the anonymous feedback from employees working in the industry about their workplace experience.
Great Place To Work UK administered their research-backed Trust Index© employee survey and analysed the responses of UK-based construction, engineering and property sector employees to determine the Best Workplaces list. The surveys asked employees to comment on how their company supports their work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security. Evaluations also included an assessment of how well the organisation was able to deliver consistency of their employee experience across all departments and seniority levels.
Analysis of the sector employee survey responses found:
- 77% of employees at the UK’s Best Workplaces for Construction, Engineering & Property say “I am offered training or development to further myself professionally” compared to 52% at a typical company in this sector.
