Phoenix Energy recently supported the installation of a heat monitoring system in East Belfast, alongside solv Group and Alpha Heating Innovation, to track the performance of a hybrid heating system.
The system, provided by Open Energy Monitor, collects data to allow us to better understand how hybrid heating systems – which combine a gas boiler with an Air Source Heat Pump - perform compared to other heating technology types.
A data first approach is crucial with new technologies because it ensures that decisions, innovations, and strategies are built on accurate, relevant, and well-structured information.
We are proud to currently support 7 hybrid installation across Greater Belfast.
A 2024 case study at another property in Belfast, demonstrated that the hybrid heating system installed had a significantly lower installation cost compared to other low carbon heating solutions, was very cost effective for the consumer and delivered significant carbon emissions reductions.
Phoenix Energy hope that the additional data from this home will continue to inform NI decarbonisation policy.
