Phoenix Energy are carrying out essential planned reinforcement of our network on the Upper Newtownards Road. This is to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our growing and existing customer base now, and into the future.
This project started on 26th August 2024 and is scheduled to continue until the end of April 2025.

We are pleased to report that Phase 1 of this project is now due to be completed ahead of schedule, which allows us to commence the next phase of the programme on Monday 30th September 2024. As a result of the early completion of Phase 1 we now plan to move to Phase 3 of the programme.
This next phase of works will start at the Comber Road junction, moving country bound to the Ballyregan Road, scheduled for a 4-week period (Monday 30th September to 25th October 2024).
Once completed, we plan to move to Phase 2 of the project (Ballyregan Road to Dunlady Road, going through Dundonald Village), scheduled for Saturday 26th October to Friday 8th November.
We have, and will continue to, engage with the Department for Infrastructure, public representatives, and members of the public to identify opportunities to continue minimising the impact on journey times.
