Growing Green: Investing in Green Spaces

The environment extends beyond ensuring the highest standards of environmental practices in our core business operations into making a positive impact for the consumers and communities we serve. We value our long-term partnerships with organisations who are actively reduce carbon and promote biodiversity.

Through a strategic partnership with The Conservation Volunteers, we have made a commitment to enhancing community green spaces with the planting of 8,000 new trees per annum. As well as creating new green spaces for communities to enjoy, the partnership will also help increase tree coverage locally supporting carbon absorption and providing safe habitats for a range of insects and species.

As part of the ongoing partnership, TCV will host eight ‘Planet Protector’ workshops in primary schools across the Phoenix Energy licensed area. Planet Protectors provide opportunities for children to learn about carbon literacy and participate in hands-on biodiversity activities. Students will gain a better understanding of the environment and discover simple actions they can take to reduce their carbon footprint. The partnership will also deliver four workshops to local community groups.

We are also keen to help connect with community spaces that are in need of enhanced green space and that could benefit from some tree planting support, no matter how big or small. If you know a community group, school, charity, or project that could make use of new trees, please contact marketing@phoenixenergyni.com.
